❓ FAQs
Do you represent tenants?
Kent M. Miller and the Miller Law Group focus primarily on representing landlords. RARELY, we may represent tenants in very limited situations involving disputed title and ownership claims, probate-related occupancy disputes, security deposit claims, court-assigned representation, civil rights and related claims, or pro bono obligations. If you are a tenant seeking help, please understand that we are unlikely to accept your case unless your rent is current, and you are following your lease and the law, and your case meets extremely specific criteria that aligns with our landlord-focused practice and does not conflict with the representation of our former and existing clients. In any event, we reserve the right to decline to represent any party in any matter for any reason, or for no reason at all.
Where will my eviction case be heard?
If your property is located in Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Stratford or Trumbull, your eviction case will be filed with the Bridgeport Housing Session at 1061 Main Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut —across from the former Holiday Inn.
Do you only handle evictions?
Eviction cases make up a significant portion of our housing court work. We offer landlords flat fee options, unbundled legal services, DIY landlord eviction and coaching classes online, legal compliance under Title 47a, lease enforcement, and preparation for court mediation.
